  • 8:30am: Room opens

  • 12:00pm-1:00pm: Lunch
  • 1:00pm-6:00pm: Testing

Tuesday, October 8

  • 8:30am: Room opens
  • 9:00am-12:00pm: Testing
  • 12:00pm-1:00pm: Lunch
  • 1:00pm-5:00pm: Testing
  • 5:00pm-6:00pm: Pack up
  • 6:30pm: Room closed

Supplies

ISPCS will Provide:

  • PTP capable switches
  • Power strips 
    • Japanese style 3-prong sockets (preferred)
    • 2-prong acceptable
  • Ethernet cables (CAT-6)
  • GNSS signal 
    • BNC coaxial cable 
    • Connector TBD
  • 1PPS measurement cable
    • BNC coaxial cable male

 

Participants should bring:

  • Your equipment
    • Enough units for each test station you will participate in
  • Additional PTP-capable switches
    • If you have them to bring
  • RF adaptors for coaxial cables
  • Optical fiber and SFPs
    • If you want to test this
  • Electrical socket adaptors
    • Plus power strip in your native form factor
  • Notebook computer for PTP Track Hound or Wireshark
    • Need Ethernet port or USB/Ethernet adaptor

Step Response Challenge

  • PTP domain delivers step function
  • Winners declared for
    • Fastest relock
    • Smallest frequency deviation 
    • Honorable mention to devices that reject jump as suspicious
  • Relock: 1PPS consistently within 100 ns of new PTP domain time
